Join City Year Rhode Island

As a City Year Rhode Island corps member, you will join more than 40 other teammates in serving the children and schools of Providence, Pawtucket, Newport and Kent County.

If you are interested in joining City Year Rhode Island:

  • Visit our national admissions Web site for answers to frequently asked questions and more details about the application process.
  • Attend an Open House! Speak with corps members and learn more about our program.
  • Contact us! We would be happy to answer any of your questions about the application process or provide upcoming Open House dates.  Please call Jordan Brown at 401.454.3740 or e-mail her at jcbrown@cityyear.org.

The Application Process

  1. Complete the online application. If you cannot apply online, you can either download a paper application or contact us to request a hard copy application.
  2. Letters of Recommendation. Request two letters of recommendation, using the forms provided in the application, from people who know you on a professional or academic basis.
  3. Mail the completed references to the City Year Rhode Island office.  If you completed a hard copy application also mail us your application form and essays.
  4. Interview. City Year is a competitive program and we conduct interviews with all of our candidates. If you are unable to interview locally, City Year will conduct a phone interview with you.

Be a Recruitment Champion

Recruitment Champions are community members who help City Year Rhode Island recruit highly motivated and dedicated 17-24 year olds to dedicate 10 months to making a difference in the lives of Rhode Island children and communities.

There are several ways to get involved:

  • Refer a dedicated 17-24 year old.
  • Learn about City Year through attending our community events and service events throughout the year.
  • SPREAD THE WORD! Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about the work City Year is doing in Rhode Island.
